• Investment Coordinating Board's Chief Attends MNC Manager Forum, Hary Tanoesoedibjo: Lead by Bahlil, BKPM is faster and more

    13 July 2020

JAKARTA - Giving of permits and implementing investments in Indonesia will be faster with full authority possessed by the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM).

MNC Group Executive Chairman Hary Tanoesoedibjo expressed his optimism with the authority given by Indonesian President Joko Widodo to BKPM under the leadership of BKPM Chief Bahlil Lahadalia.

“Mr. Bahlil is very practical, especially since the President has given the authority to invest in him. I think it will be faster, more concrete, not just a matter of licensing, maybe also to its implementation, "said Hary after the MNC Group XLIV Forum Manager at the Jakarta Concert Hall, iNews Tower, Jakarta, Monday (2/24/2020).

As is known, the management of investment permits is now entirely in BKPM. Investors only need to come to BKPM when arranging permits.

"I am happy and optimistic, under Pak Bahlil, BKPM will make a very concrete contribution to the economic progress of our nation," Hary said.

He said there were always opportunities in every circumstance. For example, when the United States had a trade war with China, Indonesia could actually be exploited to attract investment.

"We can move the factory to Indonesia. That is actually a big opportunity, how can this also create investment in Indonesia. So, there are many opportunities that we can maximize in the midst of problems that many people say that this will be a problem of the world economy," he explained.

BKPM Chief Bahlil Lahadalia said the role of the media was very strategic in providing understanding to the public, providing comprehensive and up-to-date data.

"The role of the media must be supported in order to also give control to the government, no matter how great the government is at work, no matter how good the achievements, if there is no media to socialize to the people, how could the people know," he said.

He hopes MNC Media can continue to be in the central in playing that role.
