PT Media Nusantara Citra Tbk (“the Company”) conducts business activities in advertising-based media, as well as producing and distributing various content both on television and other platforms. The company, founded on June 17, 1997, is a public company whose shares have been listed on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX) since 2007, with the stock code “MNCN”.
As a parent company, the Company owns and operates 4 FTA TV stations, namely RCTI, MNCTV, GTV, and iNews, which dominate the market with the largest audience share. The Company produces a variety of content of numerous genre for all generations, amounting to more than 20,000 hours of content annually and more than 300,000 hours of content library. Content production includes the best drama series with the highest audience share, the best animation programs that entertain and educate Indonesian families and are broadcasted in 64 countries, the largest talent search that produces the best stars across Indonesia who later join the star management owned by the Company, as well as the biggest and best special programs in Indonesia.
In addition, the Company is also in the process of constructing Movieland, which is expected to support the Company in its content production and improve on-screen quality. The venue is located in the MNC Lido City, West Java. With the Movieland’s concept as an integrated film and series industry, it will be equipped with various production facilities, filming areas, cameras, sound system, and other world-class equipment to support the entire production.
The Company is also consistently focused on digital business development through the Advertising-Based Video On Demand (AVOD) superapp RCTI+, Subscription-based Video On Demand (SVOD) superapp Vision+ and e-sports & gaming, which are owned and operated by one of the Company’s business units. Furthermore, the Company has merged all its online portal operations to iNews Media Group to enhance connectivity and efficiency across MNC Media & Entertainment's subsidiaries. This initiative was aimed to boost engagement and revenue for the Company’s portal businesses through the implementation of a more direct sales approach, which ultimately would lead to higher rate cards. As of 2023, the Company has consolidated its two portals, celebrities.id and sportstars.id, into okezone.com to enrich the portal's content and establish it as the most comprehensive and reliable online portal for general information in Indonesia, which have led to a total of four portals; iNews.id, sindonews.com, okezone.com, and idxchannel.com.
